Privacy Policy for Geo Helper - Ultimate
1. Information the Extension handles
Account information. If you create an account or sign in, the Extension sends your email address and password to our authentication provider, Supabase. The Extension receives and stores authentication information, including access and refresh tokens, in Chrome's local extension storage. We do not receive your password in a separate developer-operated database; it is submitted to Supabase for authentication.
Subscription information. The Extension retrieves your email address, subscription status, and subscription-period end date from Supabase so it can determine whether paid features are available.
Payment information. When you choose to subscribe, the Extension requests a checkout session and opens a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Payment-card and billing details entered on that page are collected and processed directly by Stripe. The Extension does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
GeoGuessr page and gameplay data. After you explicitly start capture, the Extension uses Chrome's debugger and scripting capabilities on the active tab to inspect relevant network responses and page state. It may process request URLs, response content, geographic coordinates, the current page URL, round identifiers, countdown state, and related timing or status information. This processing supports coordinate display, map preview, pin placement, and optional gameplay automation.
Settings and locally generated information. The Extension stores settings such as map zoom, keyboard shortcuts, automation preferences, capture state, and recently captured coordinates in Chrome storage or the Extension's local browser storage.
Technical information received by service providers. When the Extension communicates with Supabase, Stripe, or an embedded Google Maps page, those providers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, request metadata, and cookies or similar identifiers according to their own privacy policies.
2. How information is used
We use or process information only to:
- create and authenticate user accounts;
- verify subscription status and provide paid functionality;
- start and manage Stripe checkout;
- capture and display relevant in-game geographic information;
- provide the Extension's map, pin-placement, and automation features;
- remember user preferences and maintain the Extension's current state;
- protect the Extension, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Information sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with the following service providers only as needed to provide the Extension:
- Supabase, for account authentication, session management, user profiles, and subscription-status records;
- Stripe, for checkout and payment processing;
- Google Maps, when geographic coordinates are included in a map request to display the map preview;
- legal authorities or other parties, when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the Extension.
Based on the Extension's current implementation, captured GeoGuessr network-response content and coordinates are processed in the browser and are not uploaded to our Supabase service. Coordinates used for the map preview are sent to Google Maps as part of the map request.
4. Storage and retention
Authentication sessions and saved preferences are stored locally through browser storage. Signing out removes the locally stored authentication session; uninstalling the Extension generally removes its extension storage, subject to Chrome's behavior and any browser synchronization settings.
Capture status, automation state, and recently captured coordinates are primarily kept in session storage and are intended to be cleared when the relevant browser session ends or when you use the Extension's clear or stop controls.
Account and subscription records maintained through Supabase are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Payment records are retained by Stripe under Stripe's policies and applicable law.
5. Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information handled. Communications with service providers use HTTPS. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
You may stop capture, clear captured information, sign out, or uninstall the Extension at any time. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information, subject to applicable law and legitimate record-retention requirements.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights to object to or restrict certain processing or to receive a portable copy of your information. To make a request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
7. Children's privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
8. Third-party services and websites
The Extension interacts with GeoGuessr and uses services supplied by Supabase, Stripe, and Google Maps. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Geo Helper - Ultimate is an independent extension and is not endorsed by or affiliated with GeoGuessr, Google, Supabase, or Stripe unless expressly stated otherwise.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the Extension, our service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date above and publish the revised policy at the same publicly accessible URL.
